Our Parsha continues Moshe’s final address to the Jewish people. He begins by teaching the laws applicable once the Jewish nation settles down in Israel.
The first commandment is Bikurim, the Mitzvah of bringing the first fruits of each year’s harvest to the Mishkan or Beis Hamikdash.
This only applied to seven fruits and produce that Israel is known for wheat, barley, dates, figs, grapes, pomegranates, and olives.
We find why bowing is needed to complete the Mitzvah of Bikurim.
We learn the Jewish definition of gratitude.

Our Parsha outlines the leadership structure for the Jewish nation. We begin with the commandant of appointing judges and law officers to maintain peace and order in each city.
Moshe continues and gives over regulations for kings, such as not having many wives or acquiring excessive wealth.
He relates why Kohanim will not inherit any portions in Israel, for G-d is their inheritance.
We find out why these two topics are in succession.
We learn what it's truly unique about the Jewish people and a Jewish King.
