Our Parsha introduces Noach, a man who remained faithful to G-d while the rest of society descended into chaos and anarchy. G-d told Noach that a Mabul (flood) would soon destroy all of civilization.
Only he and his family would survive in a Teviah, an ark he was to build. He was given the ark's dimensions and commanded to bring 7 of every kosher animal and a pair of every non-kosher animal.
We learned from this Torah portion, where we get the strength to continue and endure despite all odds and circumstances!

This week is Shabbos Shuvah, the Shabbos of Teshuva. Commencing with Rosh Hashanah, we embark on the Aseres Ymey Teshuva, the ten days dedicated to Teshuva, culminating in Yom Kippur.
Most of our Torah portion is a profound song with lasting significance; it was sung by Moshe on the day he passed away. He calls the the heavens and earth as witnesses as he reminds the nation that G-d is just and the source of all their blessings.
We find the deeper translation of the word הצור - The rock.
We gain some perspective as we approach the holiest time of the year, Yom Kippur, the day of atonement.

Our Parsha continues with Moshe's final address to the Jewish people. He begins by teaching the laws applicable once the Jewish nation settles in Israel.
The first commandment is Bikurim, the Mitzvah of bringing the first fruits of each year's harvest to the Beis Hamikdash.

This week's Parsha Perspective is in the merit of the Ohr Hachaim Hakadosh, Rav Chaim Ibn Attar, one of the commentaries I quote frequently. Earlier this week, on Tuesday, the 15th of Tammuz, we observed his Yahrzeit, the anniversary of his passing.
he release date of this episode coincides with the fast day known as Shivah Asar B'Tammuz, the 17th of Tammuz.
This day marks the beginning of a three-week mourning period for the destruction of Jerusalem and both Beis Hamikdash (Temples). May this fast be the final one in exile, leading to the joyous celebration of the ultimate redemption.

We are about to celebrate Pesach, the holiday of freedom.
After cleaning our homes to near perfection, we eat ancient but spiritual bread, the Matzah; we drink four cups of wine in honor of our liberation.
Most importantly, we remember, recall and relate the story of our Exodus from Egypt.
We learn the purpose of Pesach and Seder night!

Our Parsha begins with G-d instructing Moshe to tell his brother Aaron and his sons how to fulfill their duties in the Mishkan.

We begin the third book of the Torah, Sefer Vayikra. The book of Vayikra primarily speaks about the work that Kohanim and Leviim would do in the Mishkan or Beis Hamikdash.

Moshe was then given a few laws dealing with the everyday service of the Mishkan. Before beginning work each day, all Kohanim had to wash their hands and feet by Kiyor, a large copper water basin.
Aaron, his children and every vessel in the Mishkan had to be concentrated with the special anointing oil. This anointing oil was used for generations to anoint all future kings and high priests.

Our Parsha begins with G-d telling Moshe to solicit donations from the Jewish people to construct the Mishkan, a sanctuary for G-d.
They were asked to donate precious stones, gold, silver, and copper. Specialty red, blue, and purple wool, linen, animal skins, and acacia wood.
